PRINCE ALBERT – Preliminary hearings have been set for the four men accused of killing 27-year-old Byron Lee Bear.
The separate hearings for Raine Tristen Von Farrow, Kyle Burns, Daniel Dustin Oliver, and Riley Primeau are scheduled for July, January, February, and October respectively. They are all charged with second-degree murder.
Bear’s family reported him missing Dec. 7, 2021. Prince Albert Police say it was believed he was involved in a serious assault early in the morning of Dec. 6, 2021, at a home in the 300 block of 9 Street East. Police had responded to a call of gunshots at about 4 a.m. that morning but didn’t find a victim or evidence of a serious assault. Bear’s remains were found in a rural area near Hague on Feb. 10. 2022.
Farrow was arrested Feb. 9, 2022, and Burns was arrested the next day in Prince Albert. Days later Primeau was arrested in Alberta, and in March Oliver was arrested in Prince Albert.
