Police issue warrant for man after shooting in Montreal Lake

MONTREAL LAKE - A Montreal Lake man is being sought by Waskesieu RCMP after a shooting caused a man to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.

On Nov. 1, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Waskesiu Lake RCMP received a report of a shooting at a residence in Montreal Lake. Officers responded and located an injured adult male, who was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

It’s believed the incident is targeted in nature. Waskesiu Lake RCMP are working to locate and arrest the suspect.

As a result of investigation, 36-year-old Dylan Naytowhow from Montreal Lake is charged with:

  • two counts, failure to comply with a probation order;
  • one count, pointing a firearm;
  • one count, using a firearm in the commission of an offence;
  • one count, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • one count, possess a firearm when knowing unauthorized;
  • one count, careless use of a firearm;
  • one count, uttering threats against a person;
  • one count, aggravated assault;
  • one count, discharge a firearm with intent; and
  • one count, weapon possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization

A warrant has been issued for Dylan Naytowhow’s arrest.

Dylan is described as approximately six foot three and 229 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Dylan has connections to and may be in the Prince Albert, Saskatoon and La Ronge areas, but this is not confirmed.
