What at first appeared to be a vehicle-pedestrian accident Wednesday, turned out to be a heart attack.
North Battleford Fire and Emergency services responded to an EMS call at about 2:30 p.m. when a person was observed prone adjacent to the roadway at the intersection of Territorial Drive and 100th Street.
A number of good Samaritans stopped their vehicles and rushed to the aid of the man.
When NBFES arrived, the individual was unresponsive and fire service personnel provided basic life support, including chest compressions, providing, de-fibrillation and providing oxygen.
Although the person was in full cardiac arrest when the ambulance arrived, emergency personnel were able to get a pulse back by the time they arrived at the hospital.
