The fruits of attendance at a Toronto national job fair are being offered up to Battlefords businesses Wednesday.
Businesses interested in getting in touch with potential employees with a wide variety of skills are invited to a recruitment open house from noon to 4 p.m. at the Battlefords Immigration Resource Centre, 1102 - 101st St. (second floor of ScotiaBank).
The director of Business Development for the City along with Jennifer Niesink of the Immigration Resource Centre recently attended the job fair, where they collected more than 300 resumés from people interested in relocating to North Battleford for employment.
"The whole point of attending the job fair was to get qualified individuals interested in our city and workforce," said Denis Lavertu. "We want local businesses to benefit from the resumés we brought back. There may be opportunities for employers to fill vacancies."
Applicants vary in the areas of manufacturing, health care, finance, information technology, engineering, retail, trades and more.
Lavertu says he believes attracting labour and enhanced training to North Battleford will assist local employers when it comes to managing their growth over the next few years.
