The first snowy weekend of the fall saw plenty of collisions on city streets in the Battlefords.

On Saturday at around 6:24pm, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a two-vehicle collision at 11th Avenue and 100th Street in North Battleford.

No injuries were incurred but the fire department say both vehicles were undrivable and were towed from the scene. One fire apparatus and five personnel were on scene for about 40 minutes. Also on the scene were WPD Ambulance and the RCMP.

There were two incidents reported in the city on Sunday. One happened at around 9:47 am and involved two vehicles at the intersection of 17th and 101st. The fire department was on the scene for 21 minutes, along with the RCMP and WPD Ambulance, and they reported no injuries but extensive damage to both vehicles.

Later at 6:10pm, a single vehicle incident was reported involving a collision with a deer on the north side of the Highway 4 bridge. According to the fire department a van had collided with the deer crossing the highway, resulting in extensive damage to the vehicle.

Occupants were checked over by WPD Ambulance and released, and a small oil spill was cleaned up.

Fire, EMS and the RCMP were on the scene, with fire crews there for about 15 minutes.
