PRINCE ALBERT – Ralph Kennan Morin pleaded guilty in Prince Albert court to trafficking drugs and was sentenced to four years in a federal penitentiary.
Judge Mary McAuley gave 23-year-old Morin 126 days credit for pre-trial custody. She also ordered that he provide a DNA sample to the RCMP National DNA Data Bank and banned him from owning weapons for 10 years.
Federal Crown Brent Slobodian and defence Christopher Koban entered a joint submission to the court Jan. 26.
Following an investigation into drug trafficking, Prince Albert Police Crime Reduction Team obtained a warrant to search a hotel room in the city on Nov. 4. They located a large amount of cocaine and methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
Morin was arrested, along with Douglas Daniels and Devon Daniels. Daniels appears next in Prince Albert Provincial Court March 21 to enter a plea. The charges against them haven’t been proven in court.
