Man shot in Battleford taken by Stars to hospital

No threat to public safety.

BATTLEFORD — A man shot in Battleford Thursday had to be taken by Stars air ambulance to hospital.

Battlefords RCMP say that on Sept. 8 at approximately 5:30 a.m., received multiple reports of shots fired and were called to a residence in Battleford, where a male had been shot in the leg.

Upon arrival, police located the victim, a 27-year-old male, who walked to a neighbouring residence for help. He was transported to hospital by STARS air ambulance for treatment of what were described to be serious, but non-threatening injuries.

The initial investigation has determined that the victim and the two suspects are known to each other; there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
