A man is dead after what Spiritwood RCMP are describing as a hunting accident.
The 57-year-old Ramger district resident was found deceased with a single gunshot wound to his chest area at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
RCMP Say the man was along at the time and was attempting to shoot a cougar that had been sighted on his property.
The man's body was discovered by friends of family, who were asked to check on his welfare after they were unable to make contact with him.
The incident is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected, police say. The name of the victim is not being released at the request of the family.
