A male who fell off a truck during the early morning hours of Aug.8 has died, according to police.
The incident happened at around 2:35 a.m. According to the RCMP, the man had been sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck heading back from a wedding reception held in St. Walburg. The truck's driver turned around a right hand corner when the man lost his balance and fell off the truck's tailgate.
EMS quickly responded and transported the male to hospital in Lloydminster, where the man was listed in critical condition suffering from a severe head injury. He was then air-lifted to Saskatoon where he was listed in critical condition.
However, word came on Wednesday from the RCMP that the male had died. The name of the victim is being withheld.
RCMP say the matter remains under investigation, and that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
