A 19-year-old North Battleford man was in court Monday charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Charged is Dylan Paskemin of North Battleford. He remained in custody pending a scheduled show-cause hearing Tuesday morning in provincial court.
Sunday at 2:05 a.m., Battlefords RCMP were called to the 1500 block of 104th Street. When members arrived they found a 25-year-old man suffering several life threatening stab wounds. The victim was stabilized at Battlefords Union Hospital before being sent to hospital in Saskatoon for surgery. Paskemin was found and arrested a short time later without incident.
Police say they expect the victim to make a full recovery. The investigation is continuing, but police say additional charges are not expected at this point.
