A 45-year-old male has been arrested following reports of a man making threats to children in the town of Battleford.
Battlefords RCMP responded early Tuesday to the reports of the man making threats to children. Attempts were made to find the individual, but were initially unsuccessful.
Around the same time, a number of other calls were received regarding mischief to property involving a person with the same description.
After extensive patrols and public assistance in the area around the school, police were able to locate and arrest a 45-year-old man matching the descriptions.
He faces several charges and has been taken for a mental assessment. Police say the investigation is ongoing and the exact charges were yet to be determined. The name of the individual arrested has not yet been released.
Police also say they appreciate the assistance provided by a number of civic minded people who provided timely information.
