Man accused of stabbing 63-year-old makes first court appearance

Reno Keenatch is charged with aggravated assault and breaching his probation conditions

PRINCE ALBERT – Police have charged a 26-year-old man with aggravated assault after a 63-year-old man was stabbed. 

Reno Keenatch made his first appearance in court Wednesday and his matter was adjourned to Aug. 26 for a show cause hearing. 

According to Prince Albert Police, they got a call on Aug. 19 that a 26-year-old woman was stabbed at a multi-unit residential building in the 500 block of 28 Street East. She was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police then got a second call about a second stabbing of a 63-year-old man in the area of 28 Street and 6 Avenue East. The man was taken to hospital.

Keenatch was arrested by the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team on Wednesday. He was charged in connection to the stabbing of the man. He is additionally charged with breaching his probation conditions.

Police say the Crime Reduction Team continues to investigate.
