An Onion Lake man accused of a hit and run that left a 13-year-old dead had another appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court May 19.
Courtney Cook, 28, was arrested last month and charged with failing to stop after an accident causing death and driving while impaired.
According to Onion Lake RCMP, they received a call on April 25 that someone was hit by a vehicle in front of a residence on Chief Taylor Road on Onion Lake. When police and EMS arrived they found a youth deceased at the scene. They say he was driving a dirt bike when he was hit.
Police say the driver failed to stop and remain at the scene but was later located at a residence on Onion Lake.
Cook was released on bail at his April 27 appearance and is scheduled to appear next in court on June 16.
