Maidstone RCMP seeking help on car crimes

MaidstoneRCMP are requesting the public's assistance on a number of crimes involving either items stolen from vehicles or outright vehicle theft.

According to the RCMP, on July 16th 2011between 10:00am and 11:00am, unknown suspectsstole a1997 Jeep Grand Cherokeefrom a residence in Lloydminster SK. At around 12:00pm on the same date,members of the public spotted the same vehicle burning in a field two milesnorth of Highway 303 on range road 3270.

Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious persons in rural areas.

As well, Maidstone RCMP seek the public's help with respect to a number of thefts from vehicles in the Maidstone and Lloydminster detachment areas.

On August 3rd, 2011 around 2 a.m., 5 or 6 youth suspects entered numerous vehicles and stole cash and small electronics. Maidstone RCMP reminds people to keep their vehicle doors locked at all times and keep valuables such as wallets and electronics in your house or, at the very least, hidden in your vehicle. They also remind you that if your vehicle is parked outside to try and park it where there is ample lighting to help deter such thefts.
