LOON LAKE — Loon Lake RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance locating a wanted male, Cherokee Cantre.
On Aug. 25, Cantre was charged with one count of failing to comply with probation order. A warrant for his arrest was issued.
On Nov. 4, investigation determined that Cantre was in a vehicle on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. Officers attempted to approach Cantre, but he fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed – in close proximity to an elementary school. He was charged with:
- 1 count, flight from peace officer, Section 320.17, Criminal Code
- 1 count, dangerous operation of a conveyance, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code
- 1 count, operation while prohibited, Section 320.18, Criminal Code
On Nov. 5, investigation determined that Cantre was in a vehicle in Loon Lake. Officers approached the vehicle to arrest Cantre, but he again fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed. He was charged with:
- 1 count, resist arrest, Section 129(a), Criminal Code
- 1 count, dangerous operation of a conveyance, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code
- 1 count, operation while prohibited, Section 320.18, Criminal Code
Warrants have now been issued for all of these charges. Loon Lake RCMP officers are actively trying to locate Cantre and arrest him on these warrants. They urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to report it to police.
