Update: Three arrested for murder in Air Ronge

AIR RONGE - Update: Three people have been arrested and charged in the death of a man in Air Ronge.

As a result of investigation, RCMP Major Crimes laid charges in relation to the Aug. 30 homicide of 28-year-old Andy McKenzie of the La Ronge area.

Twenty-year-old Andree McKenzie of the La Ronge area is charged with second-degree murder.

Thirty-three-year-old Sarah Isbester and 26-year-old Alisha McKenzie, both of the La Ronge area, are each charged with manslaughter.

All three people charged were arrested without incident at a residence in the La Ronge area. They will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Sept. 3.

Original post: RCMP say that on Aug. 30 at approximately 6:30 a.m., La Ronge detachment received a report that someone had been seriously injured at a residence on Otter Street in Air Ronge.

Officers responded immediately along with local EMS. An adult male was transported to hospital and later declared deceased. He has been identified as a 28-year-old male from the La Ronge area. His family has been notified and victim services made available to them.

As a result of the investigation, officers located and arrested three adult females. Charges have not been laid at this time and the investigation continues.
