The issue of what to do with a clay fill pile collecting on the site of the Credit Union CUPlex site appears to be resolved.
The fill pile of 12,000 cubic yards was seen as a potential eyesore at the site of the CUPlex project. In a memo to the City's Municipal Services Committee dated, City Manager Jim Toye indicated letters went to seven local businesses advising them of the fill material available that they wished to have removed.
Four companies responded and Lyle V. Schell Construction Management submitted a proposal to the City, where they agreed to remove all of the fill by the end of November at no cost.
That proposal has been accepted, and the fill is being used to develop the new Jaydee Ag Tech facility being built in North Battleford.
In his response Councillor Trent Houk, who had pushed for something to be done about the fill, said he appreciated the report and was pleased the fill is being removed at no cost to the city.
