Increased police presence in Saskatoon neighbourhood now over

SASKATOON - Update, Oct. 24, 1:15 p.m.: Saskatoon Police Service are reporting that the police presence in the Mayfair neighbourhood area has now ended. 

Police thank the members of the public for their cooperation in the matter. Further updates will be issued when available. 

Original post, Oct. 24, 11 a.m.: Police announced Oct. 24 that due to a number of fires being reported, the Saskatoon Police Service currently has an increased police presence in the Mayfair neighbourhood of Saskatoon.

This includes the areas between 36th and 38th Street West between Avenue G and Avenue B North. 

If possible, people are asked to avoid the area or follow police instructions. They should report any suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1 or 306-975-8300. 

Updates will be provided when more information becomes known.
