At approximately 10:50 a.m. on August 20, Humboldt RCMP and EMS were dispatched to an incident at the Humboldt Airport as a result of the sudden death of a 40-year-old female from the Annaheim area.
The accident occurred on the ground and was not a plane crash, said Cpl. Randy Wittig of the Humboldt RCMP.
The woman had just completed a flight aboard a small plane. She had exited the passenger side of the airplane and was walking forward around the nose of the stationary airplane when she walked into the propeller which was still turning, said a press release issued by the RCMP.
The plane, a Cessna 210, a single engine plane that can carry up to six passengers, was in the process of cooling off after the flight and was in good working order.
The name of the deceased will not be released at the request of the family. The incident remains under investigation
Transport Canada is conducting their own investigation as well.
