HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt District Hospital has moved to Level 3 pandemic restrictions due to a recent outbreak in the facility.

Under Level 3 there are no visitors allowed in the facility, excluding patients who are at end of life.

Examples of end of life include, but are not limited to: palliative care, hospice care or those who are at high risk for loss of life, dramatic shift in the functioning of a patient or patient unlikely to leave hospital.

Care teams can support one essential family member or support person to safely assist care if needed for self-care, mobility, nutrition and behavioural needs.

If individuals have someone in the hospital and are not sure how this will affect them, the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation is asking individuals to phone the hospital at 306-682-2603.

Level 2 was previously declared on January 18, which meant only one support person could be designated for each patient, excluding end of life, intensive, maternal, pediatric, postpartum or palliative care.

The declaration of Level 3 was made on Jan. 31.
