HUMBOLDT — A chance to see the federal election candidates in action is coming.
The Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting an all-candidates forum at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13 on Facebook Live.
“I really think it's important to bring to residents in our area the candidates that are asking for their support in the upcoming election,” said Brent Fitzpatrick, the chamber’s executive director.
Fitzpatrick said there’s a lot of questions about who’s running for which party due to how fast the election was called.
As of Sept. 3, Kelly Block of the Conservatives, Shannon O'Toole of the New Democrats, Diane Pastoor of the Mavericks and Cherese Reemaul of the Greens have confirmed their presence.
The others running in Carlton Trail—Eagle Creek are Harrison Andruschak of the Liberals and Micheal Bohach of the People's Party.
The candidates will be asked questions submitted by chamber, local media and the general public. Due to the format of the forum, questions from the public will have to be submitted to the chamber by Sept. 12 at [email protected] or 306-682-4990.
Fitzpatrick said he’d like to see people take a few minutes to find out about the candidates before putting their mark on the ballot, adding that this forum is a great opportunity to do so.
“This is the future of our country. This is how you can make a difference and I think it's important that you take that step.”
