Grass fire sneaks up on ag storage tanks

A grass fire threatened agricultural product storage tanks along Wearing Road early Sunday morning. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services were called out at about 12:45 a.m. to douse the brush and grass fire in the ditch.

A grass fire threatened agricultural product storage tanks along Wearing Road early Sunday morning.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services were called out at about 12:45 a.m. to douse the brush and grass fire in the ditch. The blaze came within 400 metres of the tanks.

Two pumpers and 10 firefighters spent two hours Saturday dealing with a house fire at 1582 - 102nd St. Damage to the house was extensive according to NBFES.

The cause of the blaze, which was called in just after midnight, is under investigation.

An injured passenger in a hit and run accident was transported to hospital Friday. The driver of a second vehicle involved in the crash fled the scene.

Monday afternoon NBFES firefighters spent an hour at the scene of a vehicle fire near the North Battleford side of old bridges. The vehicle was destroyed.
