Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel hosted a gourmet supper June 18.
Terry and Denyse Rapsey co-ordinated the supper and recruited assistance from Don and Martha Fehr and Sharron Krill to serve the meal.
Eighteen tickets were sold with proceeds going into the Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel General Fund to assist with programs such as support of missions and church operating costs.
The theme was Italy and an elegant menu began with Antipasti (appetizer) classic platter of a selection of cheeses, meats and vegetables with crusty bread and twice boiled soup.
The Primi Piatti (first course entree) consisted of spaghetti with tuna prepared with olive oil, capers, spinach, and olives. The second piatti (main course) satisfied the guests taste buds as roast pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of vegetable ragout.
The contorni (accompaniment of the main meal) consisted of canneli beans in olive oil, garlic and sage with green salad.
Guests were able to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere as they visited throughout the evening. The dolci (dessert) concluded their elite dining experience with the exquisite chocolate walnut budino complemented with a choice of coffee, tea sparkling drink or water.
Although the event required detailed preparation, it was an evening of quality food and friendship where guests were able to experience the fine dining of Italy without having to leave the country.
