Fun and fear at Maidstone Museum

Museums can have dark corners and eerie artifacts all year round, and with a little imagination and a scary story they can be really creepy.

Museums can have dark corners and eerie artifacts all year round, and with a little imagination and a scary story they can be really creepy.

The Maidstone Museum is inviting families to an afternoon of Halloween fun and an evening of Halloween fear Sunday, Oct. 30.

The fun afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. is geared towards children in preschool upto Grade 4 with their parents. There will be crafts, stories, snacks, games and a chance to show off Halloween costumes.

The evening will bring a haunted spin to the museum from 6 to 9 p.m. with creepy décor, ghouls and guides in costume and more fun. Guests Grade 4 and older are welcome to attend if they dare and should wear their disguises as well.

The museum will be collecting donations of $2 per person for admission and hopes to host a lot of ghosts offering a safe place for families to have some fun and trying something new.
