NORTHWEST SASKATCHEWAN — Update: Environment Canada has issued freezing rain warnings for several areas of southeast Saskatchewan. In the Northwest,
Freezing rain will develop tonight, says Environment Canada. An area of low pressure will begin moving eastward across southern Saskatchewan tonight. As it does, freezing rain is expected to begin for areas ahead of the associated warm front starting this evening.
The freezing rain will persist through the evening hours before turning to snow overnight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
