A youth offender is now in custody in connection to a beak and enter and forcible confinement on 97th Street in North Battleford.

The incident took place Sept. 11. Battlefords Municipal RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at the 97th Street location. According to the RCMP, their investigation revealed a 16-year-old boy had broken into the residence of his ex-girlfriend andforcibly confined two17-year-old girls inside. The two girls were also assaulted duringthe incident. Their injuries were described as minor.

The suspect was soon arrestedand was transported to hospital for treatment of self inflicted stab wounds.

The teen is chargedwith break and enter, assault with a weapon, assault, two counts of forcible confinement, uttering threats, mischief under $5000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Hemade his appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court Sept. 12.
