Jason Toovey, WPD Ambulance operations manager, is warning drivers that this morning's snowfall is creating slippery conditions on area highways.
'Our ambulances have been out on the highways this morning and are reporting decreased visibility and icy slippery sections. Please remember with the return of winter, it takes vehicles longer to stop," Toovey says.
"Slow down because it is so easy to lose control when the roads conditions are deteriorating."
Although the ambulance company has not yet been called to a crash due to the season's first snowfall, Toovey is aiming for prevention.
'We just want to make sure with the decreased road conditions that people slow down and take their time when doing their normal business today. "
