Broadway Avenue has hosted the Saskatoon Fringe Festival for more than two decades.

SASKATOON — Broadway Avenue and a few other roads will be closed starting Saturday for various reasons, with the former due to the 2024 Fringe Festival, which began on Thursday, Aug. 1, at the W.E. Graham Park.

Broadway Avenue between 10th and 12th streets will be closed at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, as part of the 10-day community summer event. The event showcases pop-up vendors, food trucks, and various performances by local artists.

Spadina Crescent between 24th and 33rd streets will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 6, starting at 5:30 a.m. for the Saskatoon Exhibition Parade marshalling area. The roadways will reopen around 2:00 p.m.

Additional closures for the parade route at 9:30 a.m. will be at Spadina Crescent between 24th and 20th streets, 20th Street between Spadina Crescent and 4th Avenue, 4th Avenue between 20th and 24th streets and 24th Street between 4th Avenue and Spadina Crescent.

Detours will guide motorists around the particular event site. The detours for the Fringe Festival are expected to be removed on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 6 a.m., barring any unforeseen circumstances or weather delays.

Sewer inspection will close 22nd Street East at Spadina Crescent on Tuesday, Aug. 6, starting at 9 a.m. The project will take four hours to complete, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Avenue P North between 29th and 31st streets will close at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, to replace service connections. Weather permitting and barring unforeseen circumstances, the project will take two days to complete.

Detours will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone, and this may affect Saskatoon Transit. Third-party apps like Transit and Google Maps Transit on the desktop provide transit service alerts and real-time bus information.
