Extreme cold warnings are on the move.

NORTH SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada lifted its extreme cold warnings for the Saskatoon and Prince Albert areas but now the cold has moved east and south, affecting a column from Nipawan down to Regina, as well as the entire southeast. Much of the far north has been under a warning all day.

This morning, environment, Canada, said a period of very cold wind chills with temperatures near -30 C was combining with light northerly winds to produce periods of wind chill of -40 or colder in areas of the province.

The dangerous wind chills were expected to end late Sunday morning. By 8:30 a.m., the extreme cold warnings issued for the Battlefords, Wilkie and Unity had already come down.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables.
