The energy in the Maidstone Legion Hall shifted from polling station to market place Sunday as the Maidstone Healthcare Auxiliary held their annual craft and home based business sale.
There were 21 exhibitors offering everything from candlesto dietary supplements, bakingto home decor itemsand warm hand knit woolensto fair trade imports.
Vendors from throughout the region including Amber Macnab, a jewelry artist from Turtleford who makesdelicate earrings and necklaces, spent the day showing off their talents and treasures.
Organizers admit numbers were down this year with 193 people signing the guest book at an event where the crowd is usually over 200. Highway conditions over the weekend may have been a factor, but those in attendance had a good selection to choose from and were able to enjoy soup, sandwiches and pie and a visit as well.
The show is one of the main fundraisers of the Maidstone Healthcare Auxiliary and they appreciate all of the support every year.
This year the door prize was awarded to Chelsea Burns, several of the vendors also had their own prizes to give away. It looks like winter out there and the holiday shopping season has officially begun.
