Eight-year-old in serious condition following collision

An eight-year-old boy has been injured after being hit by a car in a school zone. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services say the collision happened around 3:30 p.m. at 1241 - 105th St., near Notre Dame School.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services say the collision happened around 3:30 p.m. at 1241 - 105th St., near Notre Dame School.

One pumper and three firefighters responded to the scene, as did the RCMP and WPD Ambulance. According to Jason Toovey of WPD Ambulance, the boy was transported in serious condition to Battlefords Union Hospital and then onto Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for further care.

In the wake of the collision for North Battleford Fire and WPD Ambulance are warning the public to take extra precaution on the icy roads and allow for extra time. Drivers are also warned to slow down in the school traffic zones.
