Driver killed in semi rollover south of Meadow Lake

Highway 4 was closed during initial investigation but has now re-opened.

A man has died after the semi he was driving rolled about 30 kms south of Meadow Lake.

MEADOW LAKE — A rollover that blocked Highway 4 Tuesday has now been identified as a fatal incident.

On May 24, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a semi rollover on Highway 4, approximately 30 kilometres south of Meadow Lake.

The driver and sole occupant of the semi, a 48-year-old male from Meadow Lake, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been notified.

The semi was hauling diesel, which spilled. The containment and clean-up of the fuel is being overseen by the Meadow Lake Fire Department.

Highway 4 was closed during initial investigation but has now re-opened.

The investigation continues with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP traffic reconstructionist.
