A section of Highway 21 north of Maidstone was closed for a portion of Saturday after a fatal crash two kilometers south of the Toby Nollet Bridge.
Maidstone RCMP say a south bound car pulled in to the opposite lane while passing another vehicle and hit a north bound pressure truck head on resulting in the death of the 23-year-old Alberta man driving the car. The driver of the pressure truck was also taken to hospital with undetermined injuries but these are not believed to be life threatening. The investigation continues but weather and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
The crash occurred at 7:20 a.m. An RCMP traffic accident analyst attended the scene, but RCMP say accident is still under investigation.
