Here are some more of the items dealt with at the regular meeting of city council in North Battleford on Aug. 22 :
The tender for supply and installation of the electrical service renovation in the Civic Centre was awarded to Fedler Electric for $57,300.00, taxes excluded.
Council awarded the tender for the 100th Street 2011 Sanitary Sewer
Rehabilitation by CIPP Lining project to Insituform Technologies Ltd. of Edmonton. The amount is for $103,140.00, GST excluded.
Council gave its approval to a discretionary land use application for the development of 30 rental apartments at 1091-103rd Street, subject to the condition that the developer provide 30 parking spaces in accordance with the Zoning Bylaw.
As well, council approved in principle a $5,000.00 grant program, available to qualified buyers for housing developed under the Provincial Head Start Program. That will serve as an alternative to the City's two year tax incentive program.
Finally, in unfinished business, a sidewalk snow removal invoice cancellation request from Nettie Smolinski was denied. Smolinski had previously requested the invoice cancellation during the July 25th, 2011 City Council meeting.
