Caleb caps off Village project in Humboldt

The weather hasn't cooperated, but a new seniors' assisted living complex has reached an important point in its construction.
The Caleb Village seniors' assisted living project in Humboldt celebrated the completion of the enclosure of the structure on October 27.
According to Darrell Remai with the Caleb Group, the framing of the large 94-unit building, which is 94,000 square feet in size, only took four months.
"We're pretty excited," he said. "It means we will open on schedule in May."

The time frame is particularly impressive because of all the rain the area suffered this summer, Remai noted.
"Despite all the rain, we will open one year after we announced the project," he said.
While the framing is done, not all the outside work has been completed. The windows and doors are in, closing in the building, but the siding still needs to be installed and the paving around the building has been postponed until the spring, along with the landscaping.

The building has temporary heat and workers are already insulating and installing the electrical and mechanical systems, Remai said. Drywalling will start shortly and the show suites should be open in early February.
Interest in the project is still strong.
"The leasing is going exceptionally well. We have over 30 per cent of the leased units committed and there are only a few suites left for sale," Remai stated. "We are thrilled with the interest from the community and the surrounding area."
