THE BATTLEFORDS — Update: RCMP report the second of two missing teens has been found. Tait Waggoner has been located.
Update: One of two missing teens reported earlier this week has been found, say RCMP. Fallon Generoux, 15, has been located.
Background: Battlefords RCMP responded to 473 calls for service from Wednesday, Jan. 5 through Tuesday, Jan. 11.
• 25 assault investigations
-Call at 5:57 a.m. to a residence on the 300 block of 32nd Street in Battleford reporting a male suffering from several stab wounds. Police located a 42-year-old male suffering from several injuries to his legs and torso. He was subsequently transported to hospital for treatment and has since been released. Vernon Firingstoney, 35, was arrested on scene and has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats x 2. He was held in custody and made his first appearance in Provincial court on Monday, Jan. 10.
-Report of disturbance at a residence on the 200 block of 28th Street in Battleford at 2:33 a.m. on Jan. 9. A male in his seventies reported being assaulted during an altercation with another male at the residence. The suspect was arrested on scene after a brief struggle with police. A 51-year-old male has been charged with assault and resisting arrest. He has since been released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Provincial Court on Feb. 14.
-Kyle Sayers, 27, was arrested after a report of a male assaulting another male with a fire extinguisher on the 900 block of 102nd Street in North Battleford at 3:19 p.m. on Jan. 6. Sayers has been charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody and made his first appearance in Provincial Court on Jan. 7. The victim did not sustain any reported injuries during the assault.
• 16 Break and Enter Investigations.
-Police are currently investigating a number of break ins and vehicle collisions that occurred in the early morning hours of Jan. 10 in and around the city of North Battleford. At least two suspects were involved. Two separate stolen trucks, one a white Dodge crew cab and the second a dark colour dually truck, were involved. The suspects used the stolen vehicles to ram their way into a residential garage in the rural area near the city, a second garage on the 1200 block of 96th Street and caused damage to a business on Canola Avenue. The vehicles are suspected of also being involved in causing damage to at least four parked vehicles in the area of the 1400 block of 104th Street by intentionally ramming into them. Both trucks were later located and recovered by police along with some suspected stolen property. The investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
-Break and enter reported to a business on the Highway 16 Bypass in North Battleford on Jan. 5 at 11:10 a.m. After investigation, police arrested a 34-year-old male in connection with this incident. He has been charged with possession of stolen property and possession of break in instruments and will make his first appearance in Provincial Court on Feb. 7.
-Break and enter to a residence on the 600 block of 101st Street in North Battleford at approximately 5 a.m. on Jan. 7. Some tools and electronics were reported stolen.
• 17 Vehicle Thefts
-A vehicle reported stolen on Jan. 8 from Thomas Avenue in North Battleford was recovered abandoned near a residence on the Moosomin First Nation. A 23-year-old male from Battleford has been identified as a suspect and charges are currently pending.
-Red 1998 Toyota Rav4 with Saskatchewan licence 417MGW reported stolen from the 100 block of 27th Street in Battleford at 9 a.m. on Jan. 5.
-2011 Brown Chrevolet Equinox with Saskatchewan licence 642MIQ stolen from the 1400 block of 110th Street in North Battleford at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 5.
-Brown 2001 Ford F150 Supercab with Saskatchewan licence 829IWB reported stolen from the 1200 block of 98th Street in North Battleford at 6:25 a.m. on Jan. 5.
-Grey 2004 Chevrolet Silverado with Saskatchewan licence 559KXQ stolen some time in the early morning hours of Jan. 11 from the 1800 block of 91st Street in North Battleford.
• 28 Mental Health investigations.
• 25 Traffic Collisions.
• Two individuals charged with impaired driving.
-Report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at a business in Cochin shortly after 5 p.m. on Jan. 10. The male was located in his vehicle in the parking lot of the business a short time later and threatened the attending members when they approached him. A 38-year-old male from Alberta was arrested and is being charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and uttering threats. His first appearance in Provincial Court is scheduled for March 7.
