LA RONGE – Two people charged in the death of 32-year-old Eric Bouchard had brief appearances in La Ronge Provincial Court with their matters adjourned.
La Ronge residents 20-year-old Kurt Ratt and 22-year-old River Miller are both charged with first-degree murder and assault. They appeared in court May 26 and May 19. A third person was arrested but released without being charged. Ratt appears next on June 9 and Miller appears on June 2.
According to La Ronge RCMP, they got a call at about 4 a.m. on May 17 that shots were fired outside a home at Bells Point in La Ronge. When police arrived they found Bouchard injured and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say that Bouchard was raised in Buffalo Narrows but was from Stanley Mission and La Ronge.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service assisted La Ronge RCMP in the investigation.
The charges against Ratt and Miller haven’t been proven in court.
