17 cases of COVID-19 last week in Living Sky School division

Impacts schools as well as bus routes

A rise in COVID-19 cases has been cited throughout the region.

Living Sky School Division is reporting that cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in 17 individuals in the division between Sept. 20 and 26.

The schools impacted include:

• Cut Knife Community School (one case).

• Unity Public School (three cases).

• McKitrick Elementary School (three cases).

• North Battleford Comprehensive High School (three cases).

• Three bus routes are also affected: Unity (one case), the Battlefords (two cases) and Spiritwood (one case).

The division states they are "working closely with Public Health staff to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff. Any individuals who were in close contact have been notified by the school or Public Health with directions. Following the division’s health and safety protocols, the schools are receiving a deep cleaning/sanitizing and will remain open at this time."
