It was an exciting but busy process, and one that took many months.

For Humboldt鈥檚 Tadoma it is one that can be traced back more than a year.

Tadoma got to see the fruits of their labour with the release of their first studio album at a CD release on July 13 at the Bella Vista Bar.

鈥淚t鈥檚 really exciting. The most exciting part is all of the things it鈥檚 on because that鈥檚 a new thing for us,鈥 said vocalist and guitarist Caleb Frey, noting the online music industry was new to the group.

Tadoma officially released the CD with a concert at the BV, which featured Saskatoon鈥檚 Doctor Booty Quiver.聽

The CD, entitled Wendemo, took the band approximately a year and a half, from start to finish, with many months going into recording, mixing and editing, and mastering, said Frey.

While the process was long, Frey noted the experience was fun.

It was also easy, said Frey because the album was recorded at Earthquake Records, which is owned and operated by the band鈥檚 drummer, Corri Barnes.

Wendemo features a number of Tadoma鈥檚 older music, says Frey, who notes the band already has five new songs ready for their next studio album.

Tadoma was formed in late 2015, and features the quartet of Barnes, Frey, Jason McCord, and Jeff McCord.

Based out of Humboldt, Tadoma鈥檚 sound combines rock and roll sound, with punk rock energy and attitude.

With the latest album, Frey says listeners can expect to hear a combination of rock and roll, punk rock, and ska, calling it a little heavier music.

Looking ahead, Frey says the hope is for the band to go on tour, and says the band expects to get into the studio to record another album sometime next year.

While the band looks at both going on a tour, and plans to get back in the studio next year, their current album is available on a number of online platforms including Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube Premium, Facebook, numberonemusic.com, reverbnation.com, and soundcloud.

The CD, as well as some band t-shirts are also available at Main St. Music in Humboldt.
