For many years I was excited and couldn't wait to go to our local parade. During these times there was always at least one band marching and playing - our North Battleford City Kinsmen Band for one and the pipe band. The Humperville High band was always a wonderful and fun loving band we all looked forward to enjoy. There were also bands that performed from other towns. Now we never see any of these.
How great it would be to bring back the music to all the parades. The bands were an opportunity for musicians to show pride in their accomplishments and in turn, give the opportunity for the community to have pride in them. I remember when the Kinsmen Band would practise at least once a week at about 7 p.m., marching down the street. People came outside to listen to them practise. Please let us bring back the music to our parades. I am sure if they would get together and try this again the community would gladly get behind them and help to raise the money for uniforms or whatever they may need. Let's put music back in our parades!
