Plowing through snow … and scary drivers

It's 5:30 in the morning and, while I'm still in bed thinking about how much I hate Mondays, the snowplows are already out and about, clearing the highways.

Spread too thin, but loving it

It is hard to believe that we are already over half way through January.

Snow is piling up

The snow has piled up during the past week with some falling each day. Fortunately, up until now, we have not had much wind, but the forecast says that is about to change. Perhaps we will be looking forward to blown in paths and roads.

Drive carefully on icy roads

We have once again been enjoying a few days of mild weather, with cold weather due towards the end of the week. Driving carefully is the order of the day, since the warmer days and colder nights bring icy roads.

Community potluck plays cupid

Those who attended the Valentine potluck supper held in the Waseca Centre Feb. 13 enjoyed the good food and lots of visiting. Lorraine Ottison was the winner of the Valentine box of chocolates. On the weekend of Feb.

I would like to dedicate this article to someone near and dear to our hearts, Sarah (Gillatt) Beaudion. A birthday party was held Jan. 7 in the seniors' hall to celebrate Sarah's 93rd birthday. Family and friends gathered for this event.

Retiring RM administrator honoured

A community potluck supper was held Jan. 4 in the Borden Community Centre to pay tribute to Ken Tanchak, who has retired as RM of Great Bend administrator after serving in that capacity for 33 years.

Kaiser tournament a library fundraiser

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Rabbit Lake and area residents a belated Happy New Year, and best wishes for 2011. The Rabbit Lake Community Hall is the place to be on Jan. 14 as a kaiser tournament gets underway at 7 p.m.

School council has vacancies

A belated Happy New Year to all Medstead and area residents, and I hope 2011 proves to be a good year for you. In contrast to previous activity laden months, January has started off slowly with few activities happening at the moment.
