Churches are often the centre of cultural preservation and community growth. Blaine Lake Gospel Chapel will be hosting a celebration April 29 in recognition of the church's 100th anniversary.

One of my activities about this time of year is a visit to the hills south of where Battlevale School stood. The object is generally to see if the crocuses are blooming. I was not disappointed.
