The award winning Battlefords Community Players is about to host the longest running competitive theatre festival in Canada.

The Battleford's Photo Club held their monthly meeting Feb. 5 at the Don Ross in North Battleford. Nine members and three guests were present. The first photo of the month challenge of the year was critiqued by the club.

Ruddell had their Valentine's potluck supper and draws for their baskets Feb. 14. Thanks to everyone who attended and to those who organized the event.

The February St. Walburg Royal Purple meeting is considered Past Honored Royal Ladies Night, meaning the officer chairs are filled by PHR Ladies this evening, giving designated members the chance to refresh their duties.

I'm back from a month's holiday in Mesa, Ariz., a guest of Joan Smith and with a friend Margaret Huard. It was a most pleasant holiday and we did just so many things including a day trip to Mexico and an afternoon at Red Mountain, in the desert.

The Grade 7 and 8 class of Borden School held a dessert theatre in the Borden Community Centre, Feb. 14. Admission was by non-perishable items for the food bank or silver collection to help build a well in Ghana, Africa.
