Wet weather persists but crops are in and fields are green

And it rains and it rains! Although reports say the southwest is dry, the northwest is anything but dry. The main topic of conversation lately is the unending cool wet weather.

Kim Corfield, director of operations, Richardson Pioneer at Hamlin made a cheque presentation of $5,000 to Gordon Sherman, president of the Rabbit Lake and District Museum Committee May 14. The funds will help with the re-shingling of the museum roof. The community sends its condolences to George and Melita Hildebrand and to Marlene Hildebrand on the passing of Marlene and Melita's mother, Mrs. Sara Dyck. The funeral service will be held in Saskatoon June 23 and a graveside service will be held that afternoon at Hoffnungsfelder Mennonite Cemetery.

Judy Kennedy hosted the annual Father's Day supper at Meeting Lake Regional Park. A good crowd attended and from all reports that supper was very good. Sandwith Hall Board sponsored a Father's Day Brunch in the Sandwith Hall and a good crowd was there as well. It must have been my lucky day as I was the winner of the lawn chair donated by Colleen Kitching.

The Rabbit Lake Senior Sunrise Circle was the setting June 14 for a bridal shower for Amanda Kotun/

Once a month the Rabbit Lake branch of the Lakeland Library draws for a treat of the month prize. Tickets are sold in various locations around the village. This month the treat was created by board member Marie Balaszi and was won by Cree Siegel. Her mom Margaret accepted the prize on Cree's behalf.

It is good to see Cecilia Krahn and Nancy Penley home from the hospital.
