Wedding anniversaries celebrated

It sounds as though the summer will be a busy one with many anniversaries, showers and weddings. Congratulations to Mary (Blyth) and Harold Holtby of Marshall who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 8.

It sounds as though the summer will be a busy one with many anniversaries, showers and weddings.

Congratulations to Mary (Blyth) and Harold Holtby of Marshall who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 8. They were honoured by family and friends with a buffet supper and open house. May you enjoy many more happy years together.

Congratulations also to Lynn and Murray who celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary, also June 8. We wish them congratulations and best wishes.

Many visitors, both relatives and friends, surprised Marian (Wesson) White on the occasion of her 95th birthday June 6. She was very pleased to see a former Cut Knife minister, Rev. Borden and his wife who are living in retirement in Ottawa, who dropped in to see her on the way to visit relatives nearby.

Other visitors included friends and neighbours from Forest Bank and other areas. She was honoured with a potluck lunch and birthday cake.

A 95th birthday is a great time to have more than one party and Marian did. Some of her Cut Knife friends treated her to lunch, June 8. Good health and happiness to Marian, in the coming years.

A ready-to-move (RTM) house, originally owned by Bob and Evelyn McPherson and brought to their property in the early 1980s, was moved to Lashburn June 6. The McPhersons enjoyed their home and we hope it will be enjoyed by its new owners. The removal of a house from a rural area always leaves sadness for relatives and friends.

Maxwell family members keep busy with interesting projects. Julie will spend the summer in Trois Rivieres, Que., as a member of the Explorer Programme taking French immersion. Lynn will be in internship at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon. Best wishes to both of you!
