I trust all had a very enjoyable Christmas season and will enjoy a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. We had a good couple of weeks visiting with family and friends.
We also attempted to deal with the cold weather that had the livestock needing more feed than expected to help keep them warm. It never failed, as soon as we put out straw for bedding; it snowed and covered it all up. You feel like you are fighting a losing battle. Hopefully the weather will warm up and stay that way for a long while.
The H. Hardcastle elementary students held their annual Christmas concert the evening of Dec. 19 in the school gym. The gym was full of family and friends to enjoy the hard work the students had put in over the last couple of months.
With Jaxon Harty and Bailey Cole acting as masters of ceremonies, each grade took their turn on the stage with the grand finale being an operetta telling the story of the first Christmas. All students, under the direction of Mrs. Pam Gordon, came on stage for the operetta which included verse, song and sign language.
The evening came to a close with the arrival of the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus. Congratulations to the students and staff for another awesome performance.
