The Borden Museum was officially opened for the season at 2 p.m., with Don Brand raising the flag while Bob Wardhaugh on accordion played O Canada. Heather Silcox introduced the summer student, Darby Sutherland, who was hired through the Young Canada Works Heritage grant. George Walker spoke of the new displays, open six days a week, Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The museum has a CD for sale - Homes with a History - and is working on one about barns with a history. The office is moving to the Masonic Lodge and the computer and printer have been upgraded.

About 125 came out for the steak supper at the sports ground at 6 p.m. Then at 8 p.m. Epic Entertainment provided DJ music until after midnight. Sunday morning ball continued, the Kids' Zone opened up again by noon and the booth and beer gardens were open both days. Rachel Sutherland's 4-H heifer Tilly did her business for the cow patty bingo about 4 p.m., with Janie Rugg of Saskatoon winning $425; 85 out of 100 squares were sold at $10 each.

In the ball finals, the A side was won by Pencil Necks from Saskatoon over the Jacked team from North Battleford. In the B event Big Shell Debs won by one run over the Walk-it-Off team (the Walkers from Borden) and in the C, The Swingers - Borden students - beat out the Vicious and Delicious team.

Special guest Terry Pugh from Warman (CC Gazette) sang and played first the guitar, then the harmonica and guitar and finally the button accordion. Terry has a great singing voice and played and sang for over an hour, including Newfoundland tunes, The Bologna Song and Salt Water Cowboys, and, on the accordion, 7th Calvary March, Streets of Laredo, Irish Washer Woman and some oldies like You are My Sunshine and Home on the Range with everyone joining in.
