Weather causes activity cancellations

A number of events at the senior centre have been cancelled lately due to bad weather or too much snow in the parking lot. Oct. 22, Cribbage was played with high score going to Dorothy Schwartz and low to Eva Inkster.

Oct. 22, Cribbage was played with high score going to Dorothy Schwartz and low to Eva Inkster. Lunch was provided by Jean Hartman assisted by Dorothy Schwartz.

Games of choice was cancelled Oct. 29.

There was a good turn out for bingo Oct. 30 with Joan Smith and Margaret MacEachern doing the calling. Lunch was provided by Denise Newton.

The monthly meeting was Nov. 2 with president Margaret MacEachern in the chair. The bid for the Christmas supper went to the Catholic Ladies' Altar Society to be held on Sunday, Dec. 9. The Christmas bingo will be held Dec. 19 with each player bringing a $3 gift and a 50 cent gift. Seniors have been requested to do bingos at the Pine Island Lodge Nov. 9 and 30 and provide 16 prizes each time. January bingo will be held Jan. 2. It has been suggested that screening for the eavestrough be purchased. Lunch following the meeting was provided by Vera Hintz.

The card game 500 was played Nov. 9 with high score going to Jean Stewart and low to Lil McMillan. Lunch was provided by Jean Stewart and Margaret MacEachern.

The correspondents from Maidstone were unable to attend the annual dinner sponsored by Battlefords Publishing due to a heavy snowfall and poor road conditions.
