A group of interested antique gas tractor personnel met at the Western Development Museum in North Battleford Nov. 9. There are a few antique gas tractors that are in need of repairs before they are usable. Throughout the winter one by one they will be put in the museum shop and volunteers will work to repair and restore them. Some are very old and parts are difficult or impossible to find. These will likely be made by hand, if possible. The museum has some good contacts for parts from antique gas tractors companies. They hope to get many of these old gas tractors running again.

A big thank you goes out to all the men interested in keeping these antiques on the move.

It's that time of the year to get started doing a few friendly Christmas letters and greeting cards. Who sends out greeting cards is a good question. I do and have done for the past 50 years and will still continue to do so. I don't even buy many cards. I make nearly all my own cards no matter what season it is. It's a fun hobby I enjoy. What a wonderful feeling to sit down on a wintery evening and write some greeting cards plus a friendly letter to your friends or relatives. Cards cost a lot of postage, but it's worth a million dollars to those you write to. They look forward to that.

The computer world has really taken over, but I'm not a computer person and do not understand them at all. I still prefer the old way and most times I do get an answer back, which is great. I have been in contact with many pen pals worldwide for a good number of years and I still have most of them. Due to old age and ill health I have lost a few. My one Canadian prairie pen pal I have written to for the past 55 years and we still do write plus some phone calls and exchange Christmas and birthday gifts and cards. We have met several times over the years. We both married, live on farms where we both raised families.

Get well wishes goes out to Phil Bater who spent some time at Battlefords Union Hospital and was moved on to the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon to have a pacemaker installed and more tests done.

Sympathy to the Laycock family of Eagle Hills on the recent passing of Donald Laycock. He was born and raised in the area and farmed most of his life. Family members now run the farm. A funeral was held Dec. 1 at the Battlefords United Church. Burial was at the Willowmoore Cemetery.

Alberta deer hunters like to come each year to hunt white-tailed deer in the area. Roger Roseth of Caroline, Alta. has spent some time hunting in this area of Saskatchewan. He also visited his friends Stanley and Dorothy Mills, John and Arlene and family of rural Battleford, Clayton, Betty and Kay Robertson of Bjelde Creek. Roger's mother, the former Barbara Bremner, and family were of our area before moving to the Chederville/Caroline, Alta. area.

Glenn and Eileen Peters of Rainbow Lake, Alta. are spending some time in the area visiting family and friends.
