Weekends are quieter than usual around the village. Many people spend weekend time at lakes or just away camping.
The village office will be closed for the next two weeks, from July 20 to Aug. 3 to allow staff and village councillors some holiday time.
Thank you to the group who came out July 8 to help with the cleaning of our heritage church. Some minor repairs inside and outside were also done.
A wedding is to take place in the church this summer. That will be quite an occasion. The little church has not had many weddings for a number of years.
Tree trimmers are coming in at the beginning of next week to trim some of the trees close to the power lines, and also the trees near the church.
Jamie Sutherland and his friend Laurie of Medicine Hat, Alta., have been spending a few days with Sandra Sutherland and visiting other relatives as well.
Best wishes go with Merv and Kaye Key for their retirement. They are presently spending some time at their cabin at the lake.
Don't forget the mobile playground group will be in Waseca at the community centre at 10 a.m. July 30. It should be a fun time and an interesting break for the children.
